CLICK ON THE BOOK COVERS for a list of the textbooks used during this academic year. Each book has its own "ISBN" (International Standard Book Number), which uniquely identifies the edition, version, and binding of the book. The ISBN can be either 10 or 13 digits long; if a book has one of each, either can be used to identify it.
General Information
- Questions about textbooks can be addressed before school, during lunch, or after school in the Library.
- A "Lost Book Contract" is available if students misplace a book. Students should bring their current SHS ID card to the Library to check if their book has been returned first. A second textbook will be issued once the parent or guardian has signed the Contract with the understanding that if the original book is not returned by the last day of school, the family will be responsible for paying the full cost of the book.
Book Check-Out Information
- Students MUST have a current student ID card
>> Shortly after the fall semester begins, 8th graders need their current RMS or CMMS ID ~ a class schedule is not sufficient
>> Replacement SHS IDs can be purchased for $5.00 in the Activities Office, K-1 - All Library and Textbook debts must be cleared before students can get their textbooks
Tips for Taking Care of Your Textbooks
Students need to respect their books
and the opportunities for growth they offer.
- STUDENTS are fully responsible for the books issued to them.
- Students need to report any damages within 24 hours of checkout or they will be charged for the damages when the book is returned.
- Cover all textbooks right away. Brown paper bags work really well.
Don't tape covers directly to the books, nor use stretch cloth nor sticky laminate covers.
- Avoid sharing a locker or sharing books. If students turns in a book that is checked out to someone else, they are still responsible for the original copy checked out to them. For example, turning in someone else's World History book does not clear this title off the student who is handing it in.
- Students are strongly advised to never leave their books in a class for any reason. Teachers are NOT responsible for books left in a classroom.
- Students are reminded to protect their books against any moisture. Books that are rarely used and kept in the lockers for extended periods of time are especially susceptible to mold. Students will be charged the entire cost of the textbook if there is ANY mold in them.
- Don't bend any book past a 180 degree angle.
- When working in groups, students need to be careful to make sure they take their own copy with them.
- DO NOT TRY TO REPAIR A BOOK YOURSELF! We have special supplies that work better than scotch tape and glue guns.

- repairable and can reissue = $10 hardcover; $5 paperback
